Looks like Sony is recommending that you don't upgrade to W10 yet or at least until you've seen a confirmation from Sony that your model is ready for upgrade.

I guess I'll be working in a dark room until Sony releases the right driver update. Manually changing those settings does not work for this issue with a Sony laptop.

Sony hasn't yet released the necessary drivers. Go to Administrative Settings. Select Computer Management. Then, Device Manager. Decompress Monitors. Choose your monitor and select Enable Device if disabled. Worked for me! Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
